Profile

Mr.Trevor Asserson was born in London, England in 1956. Trevor and his three other siblings, grew up in a almost non-religious home, that didn’t observe Jewish traditions or other Jewish experiences.
Church, however was definitely part of his childhood and family activity/attraction.

Throughout his childhood, Trevor was involved with a Christians. He went to a Christian school where he was "the symbol" of the school. He was loved and appreciated by everyone, highly educated and successful. As a result to the success, he was picked by the highest, most selected professors of the school to be school president. In his childhood's spare time he spent time playing golf and was interested in religion.

By the time he was out of school he traveled around the world alone, working on a ship. He then dedicated a couple of years hitchhiking and travel and explore the world. He traveled in America, Canada, Mexico, and Peru.
After traveling, Trevor applied to Oxford University. In college as well as lower school, Trevor was very successful and managed to achieve high skill required tasks. As a result of being in a none religious environment, Trevor was not at all interested in Israel Judaism or work, rather than he dedicated his time in, playing sports, studying, and in social events.

During his second year in college, he visited Israel for the first time in his life. He went to meet a friend that was going to Israel as well (he wanted to travel somewhere for vacation but didn’t know where and was motivated by his friend that was coming to Israel).

In Israel, Trevor traveled and explored the land. While he was on an bus, he was asked by a Jewish man what his plans were for the coming Shabbat and if he was interested on spending it with him (chabbad). Immediately Trevor responded and answered that he wasn’t interested in keeping Shabbat and wasn’t planning on accepting his offer. When Shabbat came however he remembered the offer regarding to Shabbat and decided he had nothing better to do and it was worth the experience.

He got in a taxi and was heading towards the address he got from the man on the bus. When reached the destination, he and the taxi driver realized that there was no such address.

Since the taxi driver was religious, he did not have time to drive him back to the place he was staying because it was getting close to the time of Shabbat. With not much choice, Trevor got out of the taxi and was headed to the first building he saw. When reached the building, he decided to go to the top floor and knock on the door. The couple who opened the door were a bit astonished but let him in since Shabbat had just entered and their guest had canceled on them last minute (so there was food and shelter).

As Shabbat went on, Trevor was able for the first time, to experience some Jewish religious traditions. For an example, for the first time in all his life he had the opportunity to put on tefillin and make a blessing on tzitzit.

He was very satisfied by the time Shabbat was out and came back to that same family (turns out they are somehow related) to spend several more shabbatot.

After his stay in Israel and a bit of an exposure to the Jewish, religious world, he returned to the U.K.
As he got back, he went back to college and finished his degree.
While he was in U.K he did not drop his connection, to the Jewish traditions. He would spend Shabbats at lobavbitchers in London and would continue his interests in the traditions.

By that time, he had realized that being Jewish was the best thing that happened to him. That it was a privilege being Jewish, but you have to use that privilege right and appropriately. It’s not worth being Jewish unless you actually live as a Jew. “It’s who I am” Trevor said, it became a fundamental element of his life, something so tremendous and outstanding that he can’t see himself without.
His motivation of learning, looking in to, understanding the religious world, came from the desire and feel of belonging. Felt that the religious culture was more suitable than Christianity for him, felt a deeper connection and relevancy towards it.

While Trevor was learning and discovering, his parent’s reaction to the process, was negative. His parents were afraid it would replace his study and learning time and would cause difficulty and gaps in his study.

As a result of Trevor’s hard work, he was accepted to a high, top level law firm.
While he was working he realized there was a conflict with the hours of his job hours and his new religious schedule. He asked his boss if he would allow him to get off on Friday’s earlier and not work on Saturday in hope he can keep his job. His boss’s respond was no. It was clear to Trevor that his religious life would take place as his first prior and preference and accepted the answer and left.

It was difficult explaining his parents his decision and leaving his job. Another difficulty that accrued was that he didn’t have a job to replace that would let him work according to his religious schedule.

After earning money from working in Mars Bar chocolate factory, Trevor flew once again to Israel. This time with a bit more experience and different achievements and goals that needed to be accomplished.

He applied to a yeshiva called “daber yerushalaym” (ירושלים דבר)that was for
baaley teshova. in the yeshiva he didn’t know anyone, no friends.
As time went on, Trevor made a couple friends and learned basic fundamental the Hebrew language. Altogether he spent four months in yeshiva.

He then came back to the U.K and attended another law office (that was a bit more convenient for Jews).
Became specialist In litigation (appearing as a lawyer), joined and participated in the largest conference in his field in Europe. In Europe, he was in a none Jewish environment which was difficult to remain strongly religious. During that period, it was very challenging staying on a even track. A lot of up’s and down’s.

Trevor decided to join a probono, a non profit law office, which the government would pay the workers very low minimum wage salary, since the clients weren’t able to afford the fee. His specialty in that field was helping cases of homeless or situations of crazy landlords. As a result, once again he became very successful in his field and got famous and known for his success in newspapers, radio for fighting for the poor.

Trevor then realized that his life was lonely and he needed a mate in his life. After making the decision that his wife should be Jewish, he figured that the smartest place to look is in Israel.
Trevor had very specific requirements for what elements his wife should have. Those elements were the following: Jewish, religious, woman, and single.

As he hoped, he met a mate with the right requirements and after a year she was willing to marry him. At age 36, Trevor got married to his wonderful wife Molly.
They spent the beginning of their married life in the holy land, Israel.

Since Trevor was accepted to a prestigious internship, but he only knew basic, fundamental Hebrew which limited him in his job and prevented the success. As well as language difficulty and issues, his knowledge about Israel wasn’t high either. He was useless at his job and was fired after a year.

To earn money Trevor, his wife and a small baby, returned to England.
Living in Israel was very important to his wife. It was a difficult decision for both of them.

In England they both seized the opportunity and earned money and learned Hebrew. As soon as possible he looked for a good salary job that would satisfy him and quickly became the head of litigation. As a result he was recommended and known for doing big cases. For an example; “Doune king”, the number one boxer, hired Asserson to deal with about the biggest boxing promoting in England which he won.

They, Trevor, Molly, and two children, lingered there for 13 years until they were ready to make aliya.

In 2005 they approached to Israel ready to make a proper living family

Background Research

After establishing the Asserson Law Offices in Israel in the year 2006, Trevor Asserson was able to sue the BBC, the British Broadcasting Company. The BBC is the largest broadcasting corporation in the world. The original company was established in 1922 by a group of six telecommunications companies. The BBC is established under the royal charter which reflects honesty and logical values.

To represent its purpose and values, the Corporation adopted the coat of arms, incorporating the motto "Nation shall speak peace unto Nation". During the time of the intefada in summer 2006, it was a worldwide concept that was being reported around the world. As part of the BBC's commitment and reliability, it reported the statues of the conflict and negotiation process between the Jewish and Arab's. It seemed like the BBC toke advantage of the reports and news that were being broadcasting as the hot topic that was to include the watchers/listeners their own opinion to the case. Apparently, the British's opinion was negative towards the Jewish country which led to a lot of the population agreeing with them and backstabbing their believes. As a large worldwide TV corporation, they shouldn't take advantage of the population that relay on their news and reports and report according to their opinion's point of view. Trevor Asserson decided to make a stop to this anti Semitic advantage taking and brainwashing that the BBC are doing.
